Geneseo Takes Down Chatham 7-3

GENESEO, N.Y.-The SUNY Geneseo Men's Hockey Team bounced back against Chatham with a 7-3 victory on Saturday night. Carter Dicemans two goals pushed the Ice Knights an overall record of 14-3-1 on the season and 10-1-1 in conference play.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • Chatham spoiled the shutout at 4:39 in the third. Geneseo quickly responded with a goal from Nicholas Kovacs, Melso with the assistance. Chatham started a comeback attempt with tallies at 7:56 and 11:03. The Cougars pulled their goalie on the power play with nine minutes left, which led to Carter Diceman converting the open net to secure an important conference victory.  

QUICK FACTS:  

  • Sophomore goaltender Jacob Torgner started for the Ice Knights and recorded 33 saves with a .917 save percentage. He leads the UCHC with the fewest goals allowed per game (1.88).  

  • Captain Peter Morgan picked up an assist during the game, making him tied for the most points on the team with 19. 

WHAT'S NEXT:  

The Ice Knights look forward to a trip to Purchase, N.Y. to take on Manhattanville University (5-10-1) on Friday, January 31st, with a 7 PM puck drop.
