GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's lacrosse team toppled SUNY Oswego, 15-6, to improve to 9-6 overall and 4-1 in conference play. Jimmy Atkinson filled up the box score with a career-high 8 goals on 10 shots on goal to highlight the Knights victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Knights started the game strong and junior Jimmy Atkinson scored the first three goals of the game. Graduate student Brady Sullivan (2) and senior Cole Bollin added assists on the goals.
  • Sullivan found the back of the net with 3:00 left to go in the half. Atkinson tallied another, assisted by Cole Bollin at 1:24 in the second. The pair of goals gave Geneseo a 6-4 lead at the half.
  • Senior Robert Boneillo extended the Knight's lead on an unassisted goal at 13:27 into the third quarter.
  • Geneseo went on an 8-0 run in the third and fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. Graduate student William McCumiskey started the run on an unassisted goal at 8:59 into the third.
  • Senior Michael Corwin set up senior Kevin Mouton at 5:28 in the fourth to put the exclamation point on the Knight's massive second-half run.
  • The Knights' defense would remain strong in the final quarter, leading the Knights to an important SUNYAC victory with a score of 15-6.
