ORLANDO, F.L. - The SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team couldn't come up with a victory in their first spring break matchup, falling to Shippensburg 5-2.
In doubles action,
Alex Galle and
Talia Wutz highlighted the action by picking up a 6-4 win over Shippensburg.
Rory Tobin and
Natalie Pipes fell at first doubles, 6-4, while
Abigail Rockwood and
Katie Kujawa couldn't pull out out a tightly contested match at third doubles, falling 7-5.
In singles, Galle cruised to a 6-3 6-0, while Tobin followed suit at third singles with the same score. Pipes dropped a third-set super tiebreaker, 2-6 6-3 10-5, while Rockwood, Kujawa, and
Elena DeRiso came up short in the other singles matches.
Geneseo will return to action tomorrow against Illinois Wesleyan.
