Geneseo, N.Y.- The SUNY Geneseo men's hockey team ended the weekend with a victory against Buffalo State 2-1 on Senior Knight. The Ice Knights' victory means that they improved to an overall record of (20-4-0) and (13-2-0) in SUNYAC play to secure the #1 overall seed for posteason play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first period ended scoreless.
- Senior forward Zach Rehbaum opened the scoring 03:41 in the second period. Rehbaum took a wrist shot that flew over the goaltender's shoulder and found the back of the net. Sean Melso was credited with an assist.
- Ice Knight's leading point scorer, Peter Morgan, sniped the puck into the top corner with 50 seconds left in the second period. Tyson Gilmour and Luke Panchisin assisted Morgan on the goal.
- Buffalo State scored 09:24 into the third period.
- The Ice Knights' defense remained strong, and the game ended with a score of Geneseo 2, Buffalo State 1.
QUICK FACTS:
- First-year goaltender Jacob Torgner started in the net and recorded 28 saves on 29 shots on goal in the victory.
- Peter Morgan's goal means he has now recorded a team-high 31 points in 24 games played this season.
