Women's Soccer Earns Five All-Region Honors From United Soccer Coaches

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer team earned five All-Region honors from United Soccer Coaches, announced by the organization on Wednesday, Dec. 4. Lindsey Matthews highlighted the honors with First-Team recognition, Abby Foster was named Third-Team, and Mollie Collins, Casey Holstein, and Juliette Frischmann brought home fourth-team honors.

Matthews was outstanding for Geneseo in the midfield this season, helping lead the Knights to the Empire 8 Championship and an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Niskayuna, N.Y. native was third on the team in points after tallying six goals and four assists, including two game-winning goals. She earned First-Team All-Empire 8 for her efforts during the regular season.

Foster was dominant on the offensive end for the Knights all season, leading the team in points with 30 after tallying 10 goals and 10 assists. Foster tallied three goals and three assists in the Knights playoff run, earning All-Tournament Team recognition. The Stony Brook, N.Y. native continued her strong postseason performance in the NCAA Tournament, where she recorded a goal against No. 3 MIT. Foster was named First-Team All-Conference by the Empire 8.

Collins has enjoyed a tremendous season in net for Geneseo, recording an .857 save percentage with six solo shutouts and two combined clean sheets in 15 games. She was even better in league play, allowing just three goals in eight games with five shutouts and an .875 save percentage, while finishing 6-0-2. Collins was named the Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Year.

Holstein helped lead Geneseo to the 2024 Empire 8 Championship and an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship Tournament after recording four goals, five assists and 13 points in 2024. She had 12 points on four goals and four assists in 10 Empire 8 regular season contests. Holstein earned Empire 8 Rookie of the Year honors for her play during the regular season.

Frischmann was vital to the Knights success on offense all season, finishing second on the team in points with 28 behind 11 goals and six assists. Frischmann was named the Empire 8 Tournament MVP for her efforts in leading the team to the Empire 8 title, which included a hat trick against Houghton in the opening round. Frischmann was also named First-Team All-Conference by the Empire 8.
