HOUGHTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's cross country team won the Empire 8 Championship on Saturday, Nov. 2 after placing seven runners inside the top-10 at the championship race. The victory marks the Knights first title in their new conference and the program's 10th consecutive conference championship overall.
Ryan Hagan led the way for Geneseo in the race, earning a first place finish with a time of 24:10.2, while teammate
Charlie Wilson was close behind in second place with a time of 24:13.0.
Austin Schoen continued the impressive performance by the Knights by placing fourth with a time of 24:22.3. Geneseo went on to take spots six through nine in the race, with
Alex Hillyard leading the pack at 24:31.8, and then followed by
Pierce Young in seventh at 24:41.4,
William Hall in eighth at 24:42.5, and
Emerson Comer in ninth at 24:42.8.
The Knights won the race with 20 points, while Brockport took second at 50 points and Houghton in third with 103. For the full results from the meet,

Geneseo will race at the Niagara Region Championship, hosted by Fredonia, on Saturday, Nov. 16.
