Women's Soccer Celebrates Senior Day with Dominant Victory

GENESEO, N.Y.- The SUNY Geneseo Women's Soccer Team cruised past SUNY Poly, 6-0, on Senior Day. Juliette Frischmann's hat trick helped the Knights improve to 10-3-3 overall and 8-0-2 in Empire 8 Conference Play.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • Fifth-year forward Juliette Frischmann scored her first goal of the day after shielding the defender from the ball and placing the ball in the bottom corner in the 18th minute.  Frischmann found the back of the net three minutes after her first to extend the Knights lead to two, assisted by junior forward Abby Foster.  

  • First-year forward Kirsten Shepherd received a pass from first-year midfielder Casey Holstein and buried the ball into the back of the net in the 41st minute.  

  • Frischmann completed her hatrick in the 61st minute, once again set up by Foster to make the score 4-0 Knights.  

  • Foster added a tally in the 67th minute with her left foot, assisted by Shepherd. First-year forward Carly Lawrence scored her first collegiate and final goal for Geneseo in the 84th minute to complete the 6-0 victory over SUNY Poly.  

QUICK FACTS:  

  • Frischmann recorded her first career three-goal game during today's contest and led the game with six shots on goal.  

  • Geneseo limited SUNY Poly to one shot on goal, saved by sophomore goalkeeper Emily McLouth.  

  • The Knights recorded a season-high 40 shots during the game with 17 of them being on target.  

WHAT'S NEXT:  

The Knights will look to wrap up their 2024 regular season against Brockport (12-1-1) on Wednesday, October 30th, at 4 p.m. at College Stadium.
