Women's Basketball Falls At Fredonia

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball traveled to Fredonia and fell 61-56 to the Blue Devils. The Knights now sit at 15-5 overall and 10-3 in SUNYAC play this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A fast-break jumper by graduate guard Hannah Stockman put the Knights on the board first, but a nine-point run by Fredonia gave the Blue Devils a sizable lead in the first quarter. A late three by senior guard Kelly McLaughlin and jumper by senior forward Kerry Dennin kept Geneseo within striking distance early.
  • A quick seven-point run by the Knights brought them back within two, but clutch shots from Fredonia sent the game to halftime with Geneseo down 30-25.
  • Out of the break, multiple three-pointers by senior guard Kiley Snow brought the Knights within a score, and the team broke their deficit on free throws from Dennin towards the end of the third quarter. Fredonia hit three straight shots from behind the arc, though, and sent the game into the final frame up by two.
  • Geneseo's comeback attempt hit its peak in the final minute of play as Snow and Dennin combined for five straight points to tie the game at 54 with 40 seconds left in regulation. Timely free throws from the Blue Devils stifled the Knights in the remaining time, however, and Geneseo fell 61-56.
QUICK FACTS
  • Dennin led the Knights in scoring with 19 points including five free throws.
  • Snow added another 16 points while also leading the team in rebounds with nine.
