Men's Soccer Falls To RIT, 3-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team suffered its their first loss of the season after falling 3-1 to the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Tigers in a tough away clash Friday night.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Geneseo earned their first scoring opportunity on a low shot by Liam Mulderig in the 23rd minute that was saved by the RIT goalkeeper.
  • RIT opened the scoring in the 25th minute on a goal from the forward who slotted the ball into the bottom left corner.
  • Geneseo midfielder Liam Mulderig equalized the game in the 36th minute on a low shot that slipped by the RIT goalkeeper. The game went into halftime tied at 1-1.
  • The second half saw two goals by the Tigers in both the 62nd and 80th minutes, ending Geneseo's undefeated start to the season.
QUICK FACTS:
  • Vincent Maronski Jr. was the starting goalkeeper tonight and tallied four saves over the 90 minutes of action.
  • Liam Mulderig scored his first goal of the season and recorded a total of four total shots throughout the contest.
