GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo field hockey team had another impressive win on Saturday, September 30 as they defeated Marywood 3-1 to improve their record to 6-3. The Knights honored their six seniors (Oliva Hernick,
Lauren Briody,
Grace Olczak,
Katrina Clare,
McKenna Kelly,
Darby Matthews) and one graduate student (
Sarah Quinlan) with a post-game ceremony.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo got the ball rolling in the second quarter with a goal from Katrina Clare after a quiet first quarter from both teams.
- Marywood was quick to strike back though, tying the game back up just three minutes after the Knights took the lead.
- Katrina Clare scored again for the Knights in the third quarter, as the Knights defense kept Marywood out of the cage for the remainder of the quarter, and the game.
- Another goal from Katrina Clare off of a rebound assist from Olivia Hernick allowed the Knights to close the final period 3-1 on their senior day.
