ITHACA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo softball team couldn't get the offense going in doubleheader action at Ithaca on Wednesday afternoon, as they fell 7-0 and 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the opening game, the Knights were able to keep the Bombers off the board for two innings, but a five-run third inning opened up the game for Ithaca. Geneseo couldn't get the bats going, as they only had one runner reach base.
• In the second game, Audrey Minton picked up a single in the first inning, but Geneseo couldn't spark a two-out rally to bring her home. Kaitlyn Schmitz and the Knights defense kept it scoreless for three innings, but the Bombers brought around two runs in the bottom of the fourth.
• Geneseo earned four hits in the second game, but couldn't string them together and ultimately fell, 2-0.

QUICK FACTS

• Rebecca Schwartz, Hannah Olejniczak, and Haley Coombs each recorded a hit in addition to Minton.
• Schmitz and Elizabeth Eberhardt combined to throw six innings in the second game, only allowing two runs and six hits.
