Men's Lacrosse Six-Game Win Streak Comes to a Halt Against No. 3 RIT

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's lacrosse team saw its six-game win streak come to an end at home today against the nationally ranked RIT, 14-4. The loss to the No. 3 team in the nation dropped the Knights to 10-4 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Both defenses started off incredibly strong as they only gave up one goal each in the first quarter. The Tigers notched the first goal, but William McCumiskey responded with a goal shortly after.
  • In the second quarter, RIT began to find their rhythm. Penalties from the Knights began to pile up as the Tigers took advantage of their man-up opportunities. Brady Sullivan scored a goal for Geneseo to keep the score tight, but RIT was able to respond with six goals, bringing the score to 8-3 headed into the second half.
  • Despite the Geneseo defensive efforts, the Tigers didn't miss a beat offensively, notching another four goals in the 3rd.
  • Spencer Frank scored the Knights fourth goal in an attempt to change the direction of the game, but the RIT offense wouldn't allow it. They tallied two more goals and the game ended in the Tigers favor, 14-4.
