PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team traveled to Plattsburgh on Saturday afternoon and earned their fifth-consecutive win. The Knights defeated the Cardinals with an impressive 14-3 score, also marking their third-straight SUNYAC win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights struck first, just over a minute into the action with an unassisted goal from sophomore Sophie Lyko. Plattsburgh answered with a goal quickly after to tie the game early.
- Caitlyn Korzeniewski and Alaina Reina each added on goals in the first quater, but the Cardinals were able to match, leaving the score 3-3 early in the second quarter.
- Geneseo had a momentum shift later in the second quarter as they went on to out score Plattsburgh 6-1 with six different Knights tallying a goal.Â
- Leading 9-3 heading into the third quarter, Geneseo extended its lead with five second half goals, while leaving the Cardinals scoreless for the remainder of the game.
