GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's ice hockey team celebrated senior day with a 6-2 win over Brockport in the Ira S. Wilson Arena on Saturday night. The win improved the Knights record to 17-6-2 overall and 11-4-1 in SUNYAC play, locking up the #3 seed for the postseason tournament. Geneseo honored its eight seniors,

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stefan Miklakos opened up the scoring with a power play goal in the first period, but the Golden Eagles were able to answer back with less than a minute left in a power play of their own.
- Entering the second period in a 1-1 tie, the Knights started to dominate the action. Tyson Gilmour made a nice play in front of the goal in the third minute to make it 2-1, then Miklakos scored his second goal of the game from his knees to make the lead 3-1.
- Nathan Poolman and Gilmour each scored again in the second period, making it a 5-1 advantage heading into the final 20 minutes of the regular season.
- Peter Morgan scored the final goal of the game, and the Knights earned the 6-2 victory on senior day.
QUICK FACTS
- Miklakos finished the season as the leading goal scorer for Geneseo, with 15 on the season. Morgan led the team in points, scoring his 12th goal of the season to go along with 13 assists for 25 points.
- Gilmour doubled his goal total for the season, tallying four goals and 17 assists this season for the third most points at 21.
- Matt Petizian played the first two periods in goal, tallying 20 saves, while Christian Roth closed the game out with eight saves in the third period.
