Women's Basketball Earns Double-Digit Victory Over Potsdam

POTSDAM, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team scored a season-high 72 points on Friday evening, as they traveled to Potsdam and earned a 13-point victory to improve to 10-5 overall and 5-3 in SUNYAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights were locked in a tight battle with the Bears during the first quarter, but back-to-back baskets from Kerry Dennin and Lauren Romito in the final minute gave them a two-point advantage heading to the second quarter.
  • The Bears were able to hang in the game against Geneseo, entering halftime with just a one-point deficit and the fourth quarter with a score of 45-43 in favor of the Knights.
  • Geneseo came out firing in the fourth quarter, scoring a quick seven points for two layups by Lauren Romito and a three-point shot from Taylor Hansen in the first two minutes. Romito then pushed the lead to double-digits with three minutes left to play, and the Knights were able to knock down their free throws in the stretch to close out the 13-point win.

QUICK FACTS
  • Romito led all scorers in the game with 20 points, while Kerry Dennin recorded a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Romito chipped in nine board and four blocks.
  • Kiley Snow tallied 10 points, while Taylor Hansen recorded nine points and seven assists.
  • The Knights were dominant on the boards, out-rebounding the Bears 48-29 on the night.
