FREDONIA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team picked up its first win of the 2022 season in dominant fashion on Wednesday evening as they swept Fredonia, 9-0.
The Knights only dropped three games in the doubles matches with
Katie Kujawa and
Meghan Heeney leading the way with an 8-0 victory at third doubles.
Alex Galle and
Kylie Seiler earned an 8-1 win at first doubles, while
Abigail Rockwood and
Julia Paolino completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 victory at second doubles.
Geneseo continued their dominance into singles play, only giving up nine games over the six matches played. Seiler, Rockwood, Suslan and Paolino all won their matches while only dropping one game. Galle notched another point for the Knights at the top of the singles lineup with a score of 6-1 6-1, while Kujuwa completed the sealed the sweep with a 6-1 6-2 win at fifth singles. Geneseo will return to action this weekend as they head to the St. Lawrence Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
