Morgan Named SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Rookie of the Year

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year forward Peter Morgan was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Rookie of the Year, announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon. 

Morgan finished the regular season as the conference leader in points, tallying 16 goals and 22 assists in just 24 games played and added a pair of assists in the Knights' SUNYAC Semifinal victory over Brockport (Mar. 2). Morgan ranks ninth in NCAA Division III and second among first-years with 1.60 points per game, while his 40 points mark the most by a Geneseo first-year player since Anthony Marra scored 36 points in 2015-16. A First Team All-SUNYAC selection, Morgan recorded 13 multi-point games this season, including a career-high five points on two assists and a hat trick on Jan. 14 against Lebanon Valley. 

Morgan and the Knights will host Oswego in the SUNYAC Championship on Saturday, Mar. 5 at 7:00 p.m.
