GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year forward Peter Morgan was named the USCHO.com NCAA Division III Rookie of the Year, announced earlier this week. He was also named to the All-USCHO Third Team, the only first-year player to receive any All-USCHO honors.
Morgan finished the year with 19 goals and 25 assists for 44 points, including five power play scores and five game-winners. Also named a First Team All-SUNYAC selection and SUNYAC Rookie of the Year, Morgan helped the Knights to a SUNYAC Championship and NCAA Tournament Championship game berth, the first in program history. He netted two goals in the Knights' NCAA Semifinal win over UNE, 8-3, on March 25, finishing his postseason with three goals and three assists in the SUNYAC Tournament and NCAA Tournament combined.
Morgan finished the season ranked 10th among all of NCAA Division III with 1.58 points per game, second among all NCAA Division III first-year players. He recorded 14 multi-point games this season, including a career-high five points on two assists and a hat trick on Jan. 14 against Lebanon Valley.
