Box Score CORTLAND, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team saw their nine-game win streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon as they dropped their regular season finale at Cortland, 69-56. The Knights had already secured the third overall seed in the SUNYAC tournament prior to the start of the game and will host the first round matchup Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore guard Kiley Snow put the Knights on the board first with a layup off an assist from junior guard Taylor Hansen just over two minutes into the game. The Knights also took a lead at 5-4 after a three-point shot from junior guard Hannah Stockman, but then Geneseo's offense struggled to keep up with the Red Dragons.
- The Knights were outscored 18-7 in the second quarter and entered halftime facing a 16-point deficit.
- Geneseo's offense broke through in the second half, scoring 37 points, but they were not able to complete the comeback attempt and fell 69-56.
