Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore guard Kiley Snow scored a team-high 13 points and pulled nine rebounds as the Knights held off a fourth-quarter comeback attempt to defeat visiting Buffalo State, 57-52, on Tuesday night at Schrader Gymnasium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights held Buffalo State scoreless for the entire first quarter, jumping out to a 14-0 lead. Sophomore guard Kelly McLaughlin finished with five first-quarter points to lead Geneseo.
- Buffalo State cut the lead to nine points with an 8-3 run to open the second period but junior guard Hannah Stockman scored five-straight points to cap a 12-4 run as the Knights entered halftime leading 29-12.
- Snow hit a three-pointer with 5:18 to play in the third period to give the Knights their largest lead of the night, 42-21. The Bengals closed the period with a 12-4 run of their own to cut down the Geneseo advantage, making it 46-33 entering the final frame.
- In the fourth, Geneseo led by as many as 15 points but the Bengals used a 10-0 run to make it a five-point game with 2:09 to play. First-year guard Mackenzie Reigle scored four points, including a pair of clutch free throws, in the final two minutes to hold off the Bengals' comeback attempt and earn the victory.
