Men's Ice Hockey Falls At Home To Oswego, 4-3

Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo Men's Ice Hockey battled back from a two-goal deficit to tie the game late in the second period, but ultimately fell to Oswego, 4-3, at Ira S. Wilson Arena on Friday night in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Oswego opened the scoring 6:26 into the contest with a quick-counter off a failed keep in the offensive zone, but sophomore forward Peter Morgan answered just 21 seconds later to level the score, 1-1.
  • Just under a minute into the second period, Oswego regained the lead with a goal. The Lakers added on to make it 3-1 with 17:30 to go in the frame.
  • Nearly midway through the period, senior defenseman Alex Wilkins collected a pass in front of the net and buried a shot in the top netting from the slot to cut the lead in half, 3-2.
  • Before the end of the period, sophomore forward Domenic Garozzo beat the Oswego defense for a breakaway, leveling the score 3-3 with a clever deke past the goalie.
  • Oswego converted a power play opportunity in the third period to take a 4-3 lead with 15:31 to play in the game. The Knights pulled their goalie for an extra attacker with 1:50 to play and registered four shots on goal but the Lakers turned all of their attempts away to hold the lead.
