Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Men's Soccer team battled hard in front of a loud home crowd, but the Knights dropped a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) matchup to visiting New Paltz, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at College Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo outshot New Paltz, 5-4, in the first half but the Knights could not muster a goal. Sophomore midfielder Stefen Nikolic tallied the squad's only shot on goal, but it was caught and held by the New Paltz goalkeeper.Â
- In the second half, both Tyler Lewandowski and Matt Volz created space off the dribble and gave themselves room to shoot, but on each occasion their shot was just off target.Â
- New Paltz broke the scoreless draw in the 75th minute, converting off of a corner kick to make it 1-0.Â
- The Knights had back-to-back corner kicks in the 77th and 78th minute, but could not find the equalizer.Â
