Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - Sophomore forward Kerri Dennin scored 11 points, including the go-ahead layup in the final minute, to lead the Knights past visiting Oswego, 51-49, on Tuesday night at Schrader Gymnasium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights and Lakers traded baskets early before junior guard Hannah Stockman and Dennin drilled back-to-back three-pointers to give Geneseo a 10-4 lead. Sophomore guard Kiley Snow hit a pair of free throws before the quarter expired giving the Knights an 18-11 lead as the period expired.
- Oswego outscored the Knights, 12-4, in the second quarter as the Lakers took a 23-22 lead into the halftime break.
- The two teams traded seven lead changes across the third quarter, but the Knights trailed, 39-38, entering the final frame.
- In the fourth, Oswego led by as many as five points, 45-40, with eight minutes to play, but the Knights came charging back.
- Junior guard Hannah Stockman hit a go-ahead three and added a jumper on the Knights' next offensive possession to give the team a 48-45 lead with 4:13 to play.
- The Knights trailed by one in the final minute after an Oswego basket, but first-year guard Mackenzie Reigle found Dennin under the basket on a baseline out of bounds play for an open layup, giving Geneseo a 50-49 lead with 26 seconds to play. Junior forward Lauren Romito added a free throw in the final seconds to ensure the Knights' victory.
