Box Score ONEONTA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team couldn't pick up its fourth-consecutive win on Friday night as they fell at Oneonta, 46-36.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights struggled offensively in the first half, only scoring 15 points through the first two quarters. Oneonta took advantage of the slow start by Geneseo and took an eight-point lead into the second quarter.
- Geneseo's defense kept them in the game heading into the second half as they only allowed two points in the second quarter to keep the game within reach. However, the Knights could never complete and the comeback and take a lead in the game.
- With 1:38 remaining in the fourth quarter, sophomore guard Kelly McLaughlin hit a three to bring Geneseo within five points, but clutch free throw shooting down the stretch solidified a 10-point win for the Red Dragons.
QUICK FACTS
- Sophomore guard Kiley Snow led the Knights offensively with eight points on 50 percent shooting from the field.
- Junior forward Lauren Romito tallied her second-highest block total of the season with four, and led Geneseo in rebounding with eight.
- Despite being swept by Oneonta for the first time since the 2011-12 season, the Knights have still won 14 of the last 17 matchups against the Red Dragons.
