Box Score WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. - SUNY Geneseo junior goalkeeper Matt Petizian posted a 24-save shutout and senior defenseman Chris Perna provided the game-winning goal as the Knights topped host Williams, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights and Ephs skated through a scoreless first period as Petizian made seven saves and killed off a penalty to keep the game level.
- With under four minutes to play in the second period, Perna opened the scoring with a goal off assists junior forward Tyson Gilmour and senior linemate Matthew Doran, making it 1-0.
- Just two minutes into the third period, first-year forward Stefan Miklakos scored to make it 2-0.
- Later in the period, senior forward Dan Bosio scored a power play goal to make it 3-0 and give the Knights even more breathing room as they closed out the game.
QUICK FACTS
- Petizian earned his third shutout of the season and the fourth of his career as the Knights avenged a 2020 home loss to the Ephs in the two teams' last meeting.
- Perna tallied his second goal of the season while Miklakos scored his fifth and Bosio tallied his 10th. Bosio has scored three goals in the past four games.
