Box Score POTSDAM, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior forward Ari Samoohy tallied a penalty kick goal in the 68th minute as the Knights finished in a 1-1 draw at Clarkson on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo and Clarkson played to a scoreless draw after the first half. First-year defender Joe Vogt recorded the Knights' only first half shot on goal, but his third-minute attempt was saved. Junior goalkeeper Will Price made a pair of saves in the first half to hold the Golden Knights scoreless.
- Clarkson took a 1-0 lead in the 58th minute, but Geneseo earned a penalty kick just over 10 minutes later. Samoohy stepped up and calmly buried the 12-yard strike to level the score.
- The game remained tied through regulation, forcing extra time. First-year defender Liam Mulholland had the Knights only opportunity of the overtime period, but his shot was blocked. The Geneseo defense kept Clarkson from getting a clean look in the extra period, earning the 1-1 draw.
