Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer team made it three-straight wins at College Stadium on Wednesday night as they defeated Alfred St., 7-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the ninth minute, senior forward Nicole Bell intercepted a pass in the Knights' attacking third and slid a pass to junior forward McKinley Skala. Skala found Sullivan at the 12-yard mark and the senior connected for the score.
- Geneseo added to the lead in the 36th minute when junior forward Lindsay Wright connected on a header to finish off a corner kick, giving the Knights a 2-0 lead. Junior back Faye Higgins earned an assist on the play.
- Just before the break, sophomore forward Juliette Frischmann tallied her third of the season, running onto a nifty through ball played out of the midfield by junior Lauren Wozny and scoring to make it 3-0.
- Sophomore midfielder Lindsey Clar scored back-to-back goals to open the second half, converting a header off a corner kick and scoring from 20 yards out just 1:24 later to make it 5-0.
- Senior midfielder Holly Moore added a goal on a 20-yard strike to make it 6-0 with just under 28 minutes to play and sophomore forward Ally Ross scored in the final few minutes to extend the lead to 7-0.
QUICK FACTS
- Hannah Sullivan finished with a goal and an assist while Clar tallied two goals and Skala notched two assists. A total of 10 Knights registered at least one point on the evening.
- First-year goalkeeper Mollie Collins earned the victory in net as Geneseo held Alfred State without a shot while recording 33 shots themselves.
- The Knights' seven-goal performance marks the second time they've scored at least seven goals this season (8-0 at PSU Abington).
