Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore forward Katrina Clare provided the only offense the Knights needed as the squad earned a 1-0 victory over visiting Nazareth on Tuesday night at College Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights scored just three minutes into the game to take the early lead. Junior midfielder Cassidy Sturdevant fired a shot off the goalkeepers pads, but senior forward Liz Burke collected the rebound and slid the ball to Clare who finished the play with her third goal of the season.
- Geneseo outshot the Golden Flyers, 19-1, in the first half but the Nazareth goaltender kept the visitors within a goal with a flurry of saves before the half ended.
- The Knights held Nazareth without a shot in the second half and pressured the Golden Flyer defense all evening, but couldn't find an insurance goal, earning the 1-0 victory.
