Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team couldn't come up with a road win this weekend as they fell to New Paltz, 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks struck early with a goal in the 17th minute, and shortly after the Knights attempted to answer, but a shot from first-year midfielder Stefan Nikolic was turned away by the New Paltz goalkeeper.
- In the 31st minute, the Hawks tacked on another goal to make it a 2-0 advantage.
- The Knights continued to put the pressure on offensively to get on the board, but a shot in the 36th minute from Ryan Hilke bounced off the crossbar. A few minutes later, Geneseo had another good chance to score, but the New Paltz goalkeeper saved a shot from junior forward Eren Aydin.
- Geneseo couldn't find a way to break through the Hawks defense in the second half, and ultimately fell 2-0.
