Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo sophomore forward Liv Raucci netted the Knights' lone goal as the squad defeated visiting Oneonta, 1-0, in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opener on Friday afternoon at College Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo pressured the Red Dragons throughout the first half, outshooting the visitors in the opening frame, 10-2, but entered the halftime break level at 0-0.
- In the 71st minute, senior forward Hannah Sullivan beat a defender on the right flank and served a cross toward the center of the box. First-year midfielder Lindsey Matthews connected with the ball, sending a shot careening off the crossbar. The rebound fell to Raucci who blasted a half-volley inside the far post for the score.
- The Knights held the Red Dragons without a shot on goal in the second half to earn the shutout.

- Raucci's game-winner also marked her first career goal and the first goal scored by Geneseo at College Stadium.
