Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team couldn't pick up a road win on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at Ithaca College as the Bombers defeated the Knights in four sets, 25-17, 18-25, 25-19, 25-10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ithaca took control of the first set early on, as they jumped ahead 14-7. They went on to lead by as many as 10 points and were able to hold off a late comeback attempt from Geneseo.
- An early solo block from junior middle blocker Jackie Borland put the Knights on the board in the second set, and then they were able to take advantage of some attacking errors by the Bombers to take a 4-3 lead.
- Following the 4-3 advantage, Geneseo never trailed for the remainder of the second set and led by as many as nine points at 21-12.
- In the crucial third set, both teams traded the lead in the first half of the set, but with the score knotted at 12, Ithaca won eight of the next 10 points to take control.
- The Knights were unable to force the match to go five after dropping the tightly contested third set and were dropped to 5-7 on the season.
QUICK FACTS
- Junior outside hitter Isabella Imbo was the focal point of Geneseo's offense, taking a team-39 swings and registering 11 kills.
- Junior libero Emily Haber continued her strong defensive play this season by tallying a match-high 22 digs.
- Haber currently leads the SUNYAC in digs per set at 5.73, with the next closest player sitting at 4.73 per set.

Geneseo will travel to the University of Rochester on Tuesday, Sept. 28 before returning to SUNYAC action when they travel to Oswego and Cortland on Oct. 1 and 2, respectively.
