GENEVA, NY - The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer team lost a nail-biter on Saturday afternoon at William Smith, conceding the lone goal of the game in the 88th minute of action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Knights opened up the game with the first few opportunities to score as they recorded the first three shots of the game.
• Ashleigh Scheidweiler recorded the first shot on target in the game, while Nicole Bell took the second. Unfortunately, the Herons goalkeeper was able to reject both shots.
• William Smith recovered from the early attack well, and ended up recording the final seven shots of the opening frame. First-year goalkeeper Mollie Collins turned away two of those shots.
• The second half saw a similar pattern, as the Knights recorded the first two shots to put some pressure on early.
• The Herons ultimately broke the deadlock in the 88th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
• Geneseo launched one final attack and sophomore forward Juliette Frischmann registered a shot on target in the final 20 seconds, but the shot attempt was saved in the bottom left corner.

QUICK FACTS

• Collins tallied six saves in goal, marking a season-high.
• The Knights were outshot 8-14, giving up seven shots in each half.
• Five of the eight shots for Geneseo ended up on target, but all were saved by William Smith.
