SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior defender Katherine Kreiss scored a goal and made a key defensive save but the Knights fell, 2-1, to host Skidmore in a shootout on Saturday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Kreiss put the Knights on the board with seconds remaining in the first quarter burying her own rebound to put the Knights ahead, 1-0. 
• Junior goalkeeper Sarah Quinlan made a career-high 14 saves, but Skidmore struck in the final minute of play to force overtime.
• Quinlan added six saves in the two overtime periods as Skidmore earned a combined six penalty corners, forcing a shootout.
• In the shootout, sophomore forward Katrina Clare and sophomore midfielder Darby Matthews each converted, but the Knights fell, 3-2, in seven rounds.

QUICK FACTS

• Skidmore outshot Geneseo, 26-5, and earned 21 penalty corners while holding the Knights to just four.
• Junior defender Sadie Mitchell finished with a pair of defensive saves to keep the Knights in contention.
