Box Score PITTSFORD, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore outside hitter Linda Rossi led the team with nine kills while senior setter Morgan Michalski finished with 22 assists, but the Knights fell, 3-0, to host St. John Fisher on Wednesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo jumped out to a 14-9 lead in the first set but the Cardinals used a 9-3 run to gain a 18-17 lead. Rossi finished off a kill to tie the match, 18-18, but St. John Fisher pulled away for a 25-22 first set victory.
- In the second set, Geneseo led 23-20 after Rossi earned back-to-back points with a kill and an ace, but Fisher rallied off five-straight to close out the frame, 25-23.
- The Cardinals held off a Knights rally in the third set to earn a 25-21 victory and complete the sweep.
QUICK FACTS
- Michalski finished with five kills on just nine attempts with no errors for a .556 hitting percentage and added six blocks.
