Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior forward Lauren Romito recorded her first double-double of the season, scoring 17 points and pulling 12 rebounds to lead the Knights to a 62-54 victory over host Buffalo State in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action on Saturday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior guard Hannah Stockman opened the scoring with a three-pointer, but Buffalo State pulled ahead with a 7-0 run. The Bengals led, 12-8, before the Knights closed the first quarter with six-straight points to lead 14-12 at the end of the period.
- Midway through the second quarter, sophomore forward Kiley Snow drilled a three-pointer to put the Knights ahead, 24-18, their largest lead of the first half. Buffalo State responded with a 10-0 run to take a 26-24 lead, but Romito scored back-to-back layups to close the half giving Geneseo a 28-26 lead at the break.
- In the third, the Knights outscored the Bengals, 20-13, as sophomore guard Kelly McLaughlin drilled three triples in the period, scoring all nine of her points to lead the way. Geneseo entered the final frame leading 48-39.
- Romito opened the fourth quarter with a three-pointer to put the Knights ahead, 51-39. Geneseo led by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter but the Bengals battled to cut into the lead drawing within eight points, but the Knights finished the job to earn their first conference victory of the season.

- Romito recorded her fourth-career double-double and tallied a career-high with 17 points on 7-for-14 shooting while junior guard Hannah Stockman and first-year guard Mackenzie Reigle each scored 11 points.
- Sophomore forward Kiley Snow added 10 points while sophomore guard Kelly McLaughlin shot 3-for-3 from beyond the arc for nine points.
- The Knights recorded assists on 19 out of 22 made field goals as Reigle led the team with six and junior guard Taylor Hansen added five.
