Box Score FREDONIA, N.Y. - The top-ranked SUNY Geneseo ice hockey team continued their impressive start to the 2021-22 season on Friday night as they took down Fredonia, 5-2, and improved to 9-0-1 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights got the scoring started in the first period with a goal from junior forward Justin Cmunt, with senior forward Brendan Miller and senior defender Chris Perna picking up the assists.
- Geneseo expanded its lead in the second period with two power play goals, both coming off the stick of senior forward Dan Bosio. First-year forward Peter Morgan and Perna assisted on both goals as well.
- The Knights went on to make it a 4-1 advantage early in the third period behind a goal from junior defender Nicolas Elia. Bosio then completed a hat trick with an empty net goal to close out the 5-2 win.
QUICK FACTS
- The three-goal performance from Bosio marked his first career hat trick.
- Junior goalkeeper Matt Petizian got the start in net and improved to 6-0-0 on the season.
- The Knights have now won eight-straight games against the Blue Devils.
