Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team returned to action after Thanksgiving break on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Ithaca College, where they fell 63-43.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights got off to a slow start, opening the game down 8-0. However, Geneseo settled in and quickly answered back with an 8-0 run of their own to tie the game. The Knights went on to close out the opening quarter with a 16-12 advantage.
- Geneseo struggled to keep the momentum going in the second quarter, as they struggled on the offensive end and only scored six points to enter halftime with a 10-point deficit.
- The Knights made some strong halftime adjustments and ended up cutting the Bombers lead to just two points at 38-36 after a layup from first-year guard Mackenzie Reigle. Unfortunately, Geneseo couldn't come all the way back to even up the score and ultimately fell 63-43.
QUICK FACTS
- Reigle led Geneseo with 14 points on 5-10 shooting from the field, while junior forward Lauren Romito tallied a team-high six rebounds.
- The Knights were solid from the free throw line, shooting 84.6 percent on 13 attempts.
- Geneseo has run a balanced offense all season long, with a team average of 65.6 points per game and seven players averaging 6.8 points per game or more.
