Box Score OSWEGO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's ice hockey team traveled to Oswego on Saturday night and earned a dominant 6-1 victory over the Lakers to improve to 6-0-1 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights wasted no time taking control of the game as they jumped ahead 4-0 after the first period of play. First-year forward Stefan Miklakos got the scoring started just over six minutes the action with an unassisted goal, and then senior forward Brendan Miller tacked on a second goal five minutes later. First-year forward Peter Morgan capped off the impressive start with two goals.
- Miller tacked on his second goal of the contest early in the second period, and then junior forward Justin Cmunt finished the scoring for Geneseo with his first goal of the game off a power play.
- The Knights continued to be dominant on power plays as they finished the game 2-5 on man-up situations.
QUICK FACTS
- Junior goalkeeper Matt Petizian played all 60 minutes in goal and tallied 22 saves in the win. Through five games played and four starts he now boasts a 0.91 goals against average.
- Cmunt, Morgan, and Miller all now have double-digit points on the season with 12, 12, and 10, respectively.
- The top-ranked Knights have continued their dominant start to the 2021-22 season and now average 5.14 goals per game and allow an average of just 1.41 per game.

Geneseo will return to action after Thanksgiving at the Utica Thanksgiving Showcase on Nov. 26 and 27. The Knights will play UMASS-Boston on the 26th at 4 p.m. and then will take on either Amherst or Utica.
