Box Score AMHERST, MASS. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team couldn't continue its hot shooting streak from the night before at the Ken Wright Invitational, as they fell in the championship game on Saturday afternoon to Amherst, 79-41.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights found themselves trailing the Mammoths 29-14 with just under four minutes left to play in the first half. However, a big three-point shot from junior forward Raymond Grabowski got an 11-0 run for Geneseo started. Grabowski capped off the big run with a jump shot that cut the score to 29-25 with less than a minute left. Amherst converted a buzzer-beater three to increase their lead to 32-25 right before halftime.
- The Mammoths were able to capitalize on the momentum from the buzzer-beater in the second half as they began to pull away from the Knights and held onto a double-digit lead for most of the half.
- Geneseo struggled to get the offense going in the second half, only scoring 16 points on 23 percent shooting from the field. The Knights shot 44 percent from the field in the first half.

- Senior forward Michael Gannon led the Geneseo offense with 12 points on 5-11 shooting.
- Junior guard Harrison Dignan led the Knights in rebounds and assists with six and two, respectively.

Geneseo will have its home-opener on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. against Alfred. They will then begin SUNYAC action on the road at Fredonia and Buffalo St. on Dec. 3 and 4.
