Box Score AMHERST, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team picked up its first win of the 2021-22 season with a dominant shooting performance against Rutgers-Camden. The Knights shot 59.4 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from three-point range in the 96-71 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo wasted no time heating up from deep as they drained four three-pointers within the first five minutes to take a 14-2 lead.
- As the first half went on, the Knights continued to put up a dominant offensive showing as they led by as much as 35 points with a 44-9 advantage. Geneseo closed out the first half with a 52-21 lead.
- The Knights showed no signs of letting up in the second half, as they shot 18-32 from the field and 6-10 from deep. Throughout the entire second half, Geneseo never let its lead dwindle below 25 points.
QUICK FACTS
- Graduate-student guard Terrance Nichols led the Knights offense with 21 points on 7-10 shooting from the field and 6-7 shooting from three-point range.
- Junior forward Raymond Grabowski and senior forward Michael Gannon also reached double digits with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
- Junior guard Harrison Dignan tallied a game-high 11 assists, while Nichols led the rebounding efforts with seven.
