Box Score KEUKA, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team kept its hot start to the 2021-22 season going on Tuesday night as they went on the road and defeated Keuka 94-38 and improved to 3-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights got off to a slow start offensively, only scoring three points through the first two and a half minutes of action and trailing 6-3.
- Despite the slow start, Geneseo found its rhythm on offense and started to take a commanding lead on the Wolves. The Knights led 25-16 after the first quarter, and then won the second quarter 30-5 to make it a 55-21 advantage at halftime.
- The second half saw more impressive play from Geneseo on both sides of the ball as they outscored Keuka 39-17 and took home the 94-38 victory.
QUICK FACTS
- Junior guard Hannah Stockman and first-year guard Brooke Woodard led Geneseo in scoring with 15 points each, while sophomore forward Kerry Dennin and senior forward Megan Roell each reached double-digits with 14 and 11, respectively. Junior forward Lauren Romito led the team in rebounding with 13.
- Ninety-Four points marks the most points scored in a game under head coach Alyssa Polosky, and the most points scored by the Knights since Nov. 29, 2005, when they defeated SUNY IT 94-50.
- The 56-point win also made it the second largest margin of victory in program history, behind Geneseo's 90-point win against the Rochester Institute of Technology on Dec. 5, 1990.
