High-Octane Offense Leads Top-Ranked Knights Past Potsdam, 8-0

Box Score

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior forward Henry Cleghorn broke the seal for the Knights, scoring with 6:32 to play in the first period. Gilmour added his first of two goals, finishing off a scrum in front of the net just before the end of the period to make it 2-0 heading into the first intermission.
  • Gilmour tallied his second goal early in the second period, finishing a bad-angle wrister from the right slot to increase the Knights' lead to 3-0.
  • In the third period, the Knights tacked on five insurance goals, including three on the power play. Bosio notched his first two goals of the season while first-year defenseman Tommy Winn and sophomore forward Jared Thomas each scored their first collegiate goals. Junior forward Justin Cmunt capped the scoring with a power play one-timer with just over five minutes to play, giving the Knights an 8-0 lead.
  • First-year goaltender Adam Harris made 11 stops to earn his first career shutout and take the win in net.
