Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team improved to 3-1 in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action on Friday night with a sweep of visiting Plattsburgh.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights defeated the Cardinals by scores of 25-17, 25-13, 25-10, and thrived on both sides of the ball as they held Plattsburgh to a negative hitting percentage, while hitting .312 with 38 kills and nine errors themselves.
- After a hard fought opening set, the Cardinals took their only leads of the day in at 1-0 and 2-1 in the second set. However, Geneseo was quick to recover and went on to dominate the final two sets of action.
- Middle blockers Jackie Borland and Madison Gamberg combined for a .593 hitting percentage on 17 kills, one error, and 27 attempts to lead the dynamic Knights attack.
QUICK FACTS
- Borland registered a season-high 11 kills with a .556 hitting percentage and two solo blocks.
- Senior setter Morgan Michalski ran a great offense for Geneseo as she averaged over 10 assists per set with 32.
- Geneseo has now won seven-straight matches against Plattsburgh, and sit at 19-1 all-time.
