HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Geneseo fell behind in the 28th minute as Cortland generated a close-range opportunity to take a 1-0 lead.
  • In the 45th minute, the Knights received a red card as time expired in the first half and were forced to play the entire second half a man down.
  • In the 73rd minute, first-year defender Joe Vogt hit the crossbar on a header from a corner kick serve, and junior midfielder Adam Astarita's follow-up shot went over the crossbar.
  • Five minutes later, junior midfielder Justin Arilotta beat a defender to a loose ball at the top of the box and slid a shot just wide of the left post.
