Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team capped off their regular season with a four-game win streak as they defeated Elmira 1-0 on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights jumped on the board early as junior midfielder Liam Mulderig pounced on a bad touch from Elmira and sent the ball to junior forward Ryan Hilke who shot the ball into the lower left corner for a goal in the 28th minute.
- The Soaring Eagles ended up out-shooting Geneseo in the first half of action, but the Knights defense remained resilient and took a 1-0 advantage into halftime.
- Elmira continued to try and find the equalizer in the second half, but junior goalkeeper Will Price came up with a couple big saves and Geneseo held onto the 1-0 victory.
QUICK FACTS
- The win improved the Knights record on the season to 10-6-2, marking their first 10-win season since 2015.
- Price tallied three saves in the win and has now recorded five shutouts this season.
- Geneseo finished the year an impressive 8-1-1 at College Stadium.
