Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo field hockey team picked up a crucial State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 win. Prior to the start of the game, the Knights honored their four graduating seniors, Natalie Chojnacki, Katherine Kreiss, Liz Burke, and Grace Maley.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo had multiple good opportunities to score in the first half, but it was the Red Dragons who struck first in the 23rd minute of action.
- Trailing entering the second half, the Knights turned up the pressure on offense as they recorded all five penalty corners and all seven shots in the third quarter.
- Geneseo tied the game up on a goal from junior defender Sadie Mitchell, who received a pass from sophomore forward Katrina Clare right in front of the net and put it away through traffic to make it 1-1 with four minutes left in the third quarter.
- The Knights game-winning goal came from first-year forward Emma Fon, who scored off a pass from junior midfielder Cassidy Sturdevant with under a minute left to play in the third quarter.

- With the win, Geneseo clinched a berth to the SUNYAC playoffs, marking their 11th-straight SUNYAC postseason appearance.
