GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team picked up a crucial State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory on Friday afternoon by defeating Potsdam 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Justin Arilotta got the scoring started for the Knights as he intercepted an errant pass from the Bears and dribbled it all the way inside the box before finishing in the bottom left corner.
• Potsdam struggled to break through Geneseo's defense for most of the game, but halfway through the second half they had their best chance at scoring. A free kick was sent into the box but bounced out nicely to the Bears who rifled a shot into the hands ofjunior goalkeeper Will Price.
• Late in the second half, the Knights solidified their lead off a great free ball kick from first-year defender Liam Mulholland. Mulholland's pass sailed all the way from behind midfield to in front of the goal where junior forward Ryan Hilke out-jumped the goalkeeper and got a header over him and into the goal.

QUICK FACTS

• The Knights picked up their third SUNYAC win in the last four games and now sit at nine total points in the standings with three games left.
• Price's one save in the second half was enough for him to earn the shutout victory behind a great defensive effort.
• Geneseo has now won three-straight games against Potsdam and hold a 28-13-4 record against them all-time.
