Box Score OSWEGO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team improved to 2-0 in SUNYAC play with a 3-0 sweep of Oswego on Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights got off to a slow start, trailing 7-2 in the first set. However, they settled in and found their rhythm offensively later in the set and went on a run where they won eight out of nine points and took a 12-9 lead.
- The Lakers tied the set at 14-14, but Geneseo was able to run away with the set down the stretch and pulled out a 25-19 win.
- The second set saw more impressive play down the stretch from the Knights as they won 11 of the last 16 points for a 25-16 victory.
- Leading two sets to none, Geneseo kept the pressure on offensively and wouldn't let Oswego get back into the match. They went on to close out the sweep with a 25-20 win in the final set.
QUICK FACTS
- Junior outside hitter Isabella Imbo put up a season-high .379 hitting percentage with 13 kills and just two errors on 29 attempts.
- Emily Haber and Cecilia Dignan led the defensive effort with 14 digs each.
- The Knights had their best game this season offensively, tallying a .260 hitting percentage.
