Box Score OSWEGO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior defenseman Cam Russell scored two goals, including the game-winning tally, as the Knights earned a hard-fought victory against SUNY Oswego, 5-3, Sunday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior forward Devin Brink gave Geneseo their first goal at the 4:53 mark of the first period during a two-on-one breakaway with junior forward Carson Kelley. Russell opened the scoring in the second period with a slap shot from the point, putting Geneseo up 2-0.
- After the Lakers made the score 2-1 at the end of the second period, Geneseo missed a chance to extend the lead during the opening minutes of the third period while on a five-minute power play.
- Sophomore defenseman Matthew Doran ripped a power play goal to give the Knights a 3-1 lead with 14:04 left in the game. Oswego answered back with two goals of their own to tie the game 3-3 with 6:51 remaining.
- Russell netted the go-ahead score with only 1:29 left on the clock and senior forward Conlan Keenan iced the game at 5-3 with an empty-net goal with only 0:48 to go in the third period.

- Russell scored multiple goals in a single game for the first time in his career, and tallied his first-career game-winning goal.
