Box Score NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior forward Kerrin Montgomery recorded 13 points and a game-high 17 rebounds, but it was not enough as the Knights fell short to the second-seeded Cortland Red Dragons, 42-33, on Friday night in the SUNYAC Semifinals.
HOW IT HAPPENED

The Red Dragons opened the game on a 7-0 run. The Knights were held scoreless until the 5:41 mark when junior guard Natalie Alfieri broke the seal with a layup. Montgomery added four points throughout the quarter as Geneseo finished the period down, 14-10.

Junior guard Linsday Halpin started the quarter with a three-pointer as Montgomery finished an and-one layup on the next possession to spark a 7-0 run for the Knights. However, Cortland ended the half on a 9-2 run of their own taking a 23-19 lead into halftime.

Both teams were held scoreless until the 6:11 mark before first-year guard Hannah Stockman opened the scoring for the Knights with a transition three. Cortland outscored Geneseo 9-6 during the quarter, entering the final frame of regulation up 32-26.

The Knights were held to just nine points in the fourth as Cortland held onto their lead, winning the game 42-33.
